Donations

Please help us preserve the history of Missouri Heights by keeping the schoolhouse properly maintained. Your financial help goes toward the costs of keeping the schoolhouse and teacherage from falling apart and grounds in top condition. As we are all volunteers, no one is paid for their time in keeping the Missouri Heights Community League and its website up and running.

Books

We also have copies of Anita Witt's book, They Came from Missouri, which chronicles life on Missouri Heights in the 1900's. It's a fantastic read of local history. Please let us know if you'd like a copy at $5.00 each.

The schoolhouse has a fresh new look! In spite of COVID, we were able to safely get it all spruced up this past summer. With the help of many volunteers working outdoors, socially distanced, all wearing masks, and under the professional guidance of Dan Rosenthal, it was scraped and sanded. Because of our wonderful community, our 2020 fund raising campaign brought in the funds needed to then have Dan complete the project by doing a great job of priming and painting.

COVID

We are renting again after a complete shutdown last summer, but under some restrictions. We are strictly following all the Colorado and Garfield County COVID regulations needed to operate. As this is a moving target, we never know what the future brings and are doing the best we can to make sure whatever the current situation is, we and our guests will be in compliance. As I write this we are currently operating with 50% capacity (for us, 50 guests), distancing, masks, and with required onsite monitoring of compliance. But, as you know, things change, so we will keep you updated as much as possible.

If you're considering having an event at the schoolhouse, please email me, and we can discuss what's happening at that time and what that will mean for your event.

Also, please get in touch if you'd like an in-person tour of the schoolhouse and teacherage. You're welcome to tour the grounds on your own as long as the property is not in use.
